Guild Esports takes the lead in Apex Legends Tournament
Blue Star Capital’s portfolio company, Guild Esports, the team co-owned by the well-known British soccer star David Beckham, celebrated its win on the fourth day of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Pro League matches in Apex Legends which took place over the weekend.
Ahead of the Pro League this month, Guild signed the international roster known as Orgless and Hungry, a squad of Apex veterans featuring popular streamer Matej “MaTaFe” Fekonja.
As part of the tournament, the esports company went up against week one champions Invictus Gaming as well as the talented squad Alliance, and ALGS champions SCARZ.
As reported on Monday, Guild are now leading overall Pro League standings in EMEA. The action will pick up next Saturday, Oct. 30, featuring the third week of Pro League matches.

Guild was admitted to the Official List and started trading on the standard segment of the London Stock Exchange in October 2020 to take advantage of the growing esports markets.
Blue Star says the esports market is experiencing significant growth. In 2020 it was estimated at c.495m viewers and is projected to reach around 646 million viewers by 2023. This is expected to result in revenues growing over the same period from $950m to $1.60bn.
